You give me fever
My helper monkey is not so helpful. Poor thing has the Croup, which sucks for all of us.
He woke up last night around 1:30am with a terrible barky cough. He was flush with fever, but feeling cold, so I wrapped him in our comforter while Shiny went to get him some juice to help his throat. Poor baby was freaking out a little because he was having trouble catching a breath, and was only really comfy when he was sitting up. I slept in his room with him last night, which was fitful on his part. The high fever didn't help, and we debated on whether or not to call the doctor in the middle of the night. I switched with Shiny to get a couple hours sleep, then we switched again before wake up time. The end of the night was a bit easier on Av, but Shines and I are both pretty zonked today. One good distraction last night was the snow - Av was very excited to see that it came and to help shovel out the car in the morning. That helped calm him down.
So today we're home again. We went to the pediatrician for the official diagnosis. That was an adventure what with an inch of snow on the ground and me not being able to walk well without assistance. Yet going out satisfied Av's wanting to shovel the sidewalk, clean off the car, and throw snow at Mommy. He'll most likely be out of school for the week. While he's still running a temp, hopefully last night was the worst of it. Now he's all full of energy and rocking out his newly fixed guitar while wearing his new Beatles shirt and watching The Wiggles. The doctor recommended fluids, Tylenol, and popsicles to sooth his throat. Is it any wonder why he loves going to the doctor?
