"Head...Shoulders...Knees and...SOCKS!"
WARNING: This blog uses the "F-word!"
I'm finding it very amusing that the big news item of the day around these parts is that Dick Cheney told Sen. Patrick Leahy to go fuck himself. Now not only did the Washington Post report this, but they actually printed the full four letters. This is outrageous of course. The last time they did that was when the printed parts of the Starr Report in 1998. Cheney has defended his use of the word, and after all he was pissed off, so to that I say "Go Dick!"
BUT...was it appropriate? Sure he's a guy like all other guys - I don't expect him to be perfect in every way because lord knows that no other politician is. But was it appropriate for him being the Vice President to say this while on the Senate floor to a Senator? In front of staffers? And was it appropriate for the Washington Post to print the full word? This I have no problem with, he said what he said. But to complain about it? The Post Editor explained why he printed it, but at the end of this article there is the quote: " A few dozen readers have called to complain, some saying the word was inappropriate in family newspaper read by children. "How utterly sad for your fine paper," a Springfield man said in an e-mail." Because you let your child read an article that is clearly headlined "Cheney Dismisses Critic With Obscenity" I ask you Mr. Springfield anti-Fuck man - is that appropriate?
