"Head...Shoulders...Knees and...SOCKS!"

Well Mother’s day has come and gone. We were so busy today that I forgot to call my mom, and since I was so intent on watching the end of Survivor, I figured that rather than calling her late, I’ll just call tomorrow. She’s not so big on holidays, so I’m not too worried about any repercussions.

My Mom’s day started off rather wonderfully – I got to sleep in, and then survived the afternoon with my in-laws, a shopping trip to Target, and a day of no cooking! Spouse made dinner for the kid, thus allowing me a much needed nap! He also ordered in dinner for the two of us! I love a day of no cooking!

And can I just say that my husband KICKS ASS! Yesterday we enjoyed the pre-cicada weather with a nice long walk around the neighborhood; we also made a Home Depot run. When we got home Spouse was moving and shaking: installing the new showerhead in the kid’s bathroom, replacing our old smoke detector with a new one, doing laundry (folding laundry!), and taking care of the little one who had a fever last night. He totally stepped up today with his parents and taking care of both the little one and me. I’m looking forward to Father’s day when I can get him a kick-ass manly dad gift!
