Back then we used to giggle and talk about boys - Now we still do, only they are our sons.
Back then when we would laugh over drinks at a bar - Now we still do, only now the drinks are from Starbucks.
Back then I would introduce her to cool bands like Live and Dinosaur Jr. - Now I still do, only the bands are The Wiggles and Laurie Berkner.
Back then sometimes we could stay up all night if we chose too - Now sometimes we still do but only because our kids keep us awake.
Back then we'd worry about driving safe hip and cool cars - Now we worry about driving with safe hip and cool car seats.
Back then we would hop from party to party - Now we hop from potty to potty.
Back then we would read books like Candide and Kafka - Now we read Sandra Boynton and Seuss.

So I guess it's true what they say - the more things change - the more they stay the same.  And that's the best thing about best friends.
