"Head...Shoulders...Knees and...SOCKS!"
Happy Birthday Bug
Home finally from a very long week. Snuggled up in bed, still in my jammies, the Disney Channel running, and my nearly naked son curled up next to me, wearing just a Pull-up, telling me he NEEDS to keep his clothes off right now, fingers in his mouth, head resting on my arm, glasses on, intently watching the TV.
I can't believe that he is now three.
Everyone at convention remembers the year that I was there 36 weeks pregnant and a lot of our friends were recalling that they hadn't even made it home yet when we called to tell them that we had the baby. They couldn't believe how big he has grown. He was so tiny - the cat was bigger than he was. Our first night home was New Years Eve, and I still remember the peaceful feeling I felt when I watched the ball drop while my boys were sleeping soundly.
The past year he has grown and changed so much. The year started off with his eye surgery, and lots of eye patches after that. Learning more words, sentences, manners. Lots of music and singing. Meeting many new people, making new friends, and going on new adventures. Sick days, snow days, lazy days. Potty training, bubbles, and books. Being very brave, and a real trooper, and certainly saying the darndest things.
OK - he just licked me. I must go tickle him now, and remember that these small moments will be treasured forever and great for embarrassing him when he's older!
