"Head...Shoulders...Knees and...SOCKS!"

What a better way to spend a snowy, icy, sleety, winter mix kind of day than making homemade valentines?  A day so yucky here in Washington that even the Federal Government closed at 2pm!  So with all school districts closing early, I picked up the kid, and once home we broke out the construction paper, safety scissors, markers, stickers, and glue sticks.  Grabbed the Sunday paper advertisement inserts and got to work. 

The best part about them?  Av wrote his own name on every single card (with very very little help from Mommy).  So how do you write his name?  One stripe up and then back down again, then connect the lines.  One stripe down and one stripe back up again.  Then the I.  I am so proud of him!  The results of our labor is as follows:



They are quite awesome, colorful, and I am quite proud of him.  Although he wavered in the middle with a "No Mommy, you finish them." and was occasionally distracted with snacks, he did them all.  (20 total).  He shall have good penmanship and creative flair.  He was quite methodical in selecting what to paste on which card, who got what color heart, and who got what sticker and what color.  Hopefully the weather won't close schools tomorrow!
