"Head...Shoulders...Knees and...SOCKS!"
Isn't it the worst feeling waking up feeling hungover when you weren't even drinking the night before?
Instead, my jet set rocking night, was spent sleeping on the floor of Child's room from around 4am something until Spouse got me up around 6:45ish, with Child stroking my hair so that he wouldn't scream hysterically. For some unknown reason, the past two nights and yesterday morning, major fits of screaming and crying ensued, so much so that both Spouse and I were at the breaking point. Child is such a mellow happy go lucky kid, and was acting totally fine during the day - so why this why now?
I took him to the Pediatrician today, just to make sure it wasn't an ear infection or strep (which was going around the daycare). We then spent an afternoon together shopping (well I shopped, he slept) and we got him some spiffy clearance stuff from Old Navy, an art project for me, and a "Woof Woof pillow" (that's what the tag says) for him to curl up with in his crib. Perhaps this will help? Since the little one gets comfort from scrunching our hair, and his, Spouse joked last night that we should just by the kid a wig to sleep with.
So instead of antibiotics, the Child got his flu shot. I wouldn't let him nap more than 2 hours today, so hopefully we'll have to see how he does tonight. I'm hoping he gets through it quietly, as (selfishly) Spouse and I have a lot to get done, and we have a long day planned for tomorrow.
And the irony of it all? Now I want a drink.
