"Head...Shoulders...Knees and...SOCKS!"
I took Child to the doctor again today for his regularly scheduled tune up. He is doing A-OK - chugging right up the height and weight charts, staying the course - not bad for a preemie!
The Doctor was also VERY impressed with all of his talking. Child was chattering away the entire time identifying pictures in his book, saying and signing for "more book" then "thank you!" and starting all over again. The Doc said his language skills are definitely advanced for his age. That's my kid - the genius!
Because he was such a good boy at the doctor's office, I treated him to an Elmo sticker ("Elmo!") and a shortbread cookie ("coo-gie") while I tried one of those new "Light" Frappacinos. Tasted the same to me. When we got home we went for a walk (a real one - no stroller!) around our block, looking for doggies and cats. We saw one of each. It seems as though every dog in our neighborhood is named "Rocky". Child gets so excited when he sees a dog - "DOGGIE! HI!!!!" but once the dog gets closer, he gets all shy. Then of course as they walk away, we hear a very brave "BYE!" Totally cute. Of course now I worry that my son will be a dog person - oh the horror!
The rest of the day was not so bad - all my travel arrangements are in place for the conference I'm going to at the end of the summer, we figured out that we'll be able to visit my friend Dee in perfect timing with her daughter's first birthday party, Spouse is downstairs cooking dinner for me as I type, AND I have a four day holiday weekend to look forward to - sweet!
