"Head...Shoulders...Knees and...SOCKS!"
Well for those of you concerned - Child is ok. He made it though the night ok. We took it easy yesterday and we made it to the party - he was a big hit with the older folks.
Today was GORGEOUS! It just simply doesn't get any better in mid-June than it did today. The weather was in the mid-seventies, low humidity, and not a cloud in the sky. So we went for a long walk through the city - three and a half miles (approximately). Amazingly, all of the flags in the city are still at half staff. We had fun playing our favorite tourist game "Guess where they are from?" I was kicking ass with the Europeans. Child had a blast saying hi to people and welcoming them to our fair city.
The other thing that got me, was how quiet the city was. Not like a creepy quiet - I mean we would still hear the sounds of the cars going by, etc. But the neighborhood was so quiet and peaceful. In addition to our walking around we were looking out for the "Panda-mania" giant painted panda sculptures that they have placed throughout the city. Last year it was the "party animals" (donkeys and elephants - much more innovative) I think. Sadly, we counted more Starbucks than pandas.
