"Head...Shoulders...Knees and...SOCKS!"
Today started as another good day for me. I went into work and was the only one in the office - it was so nice and quiet, laid back (no supervisors!), and I enjoyed a spicy curry lunch with some friends. Since today was supposed to be my day off, I left early and went craft store shopping, then I picked up the Child.
He was upset when I picked him up, and more clingy that usual in the evening. I chalked this up to him being tired after a long day. After all he finished his father's day gift! He was still acting a little odd when we got home, but once inside was running around like usual in the kitchen. I made dinner, and no sooner had a put his bib on, snapped the tray in place, and put his dinner on it, then BLEEEEEH. All over himself. Lots of crying and cleaning up followed. The poor thing kept asking for Daddy. We then moved to the couch, and I made him more comfortable. Worrying that he would dehydrate, I brought his juice/water. He asked for it, so I obliged, and he was so happy when Daddy came home. He finished his juice, when he looked at me and BLEEEEEAAAAAAH again - ALL over me and himself. More crying, more cleaning up. No more juice (or anything else for that matter). Clean diapers, clean jammies. We put him to bed at 7, and so far things have still been quiet.
I am worried about him - he was fine all day, and doesn't have any other symptoms, no fever. Selfishly, I'm bummed because we had plans tomorrow that I was very much looking forward to (a family celebration for one of my favorite volunteers), and now we may have to cancel. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't put a party before Child's health and well being, but I really hope that he is feeling better tomorrow.
